MEV (maximal extractable value)
Also written or said as: maximal extractable value, mev bot, mev bots
Profit bots make by choosing the order of other people's transactions.
Transactions wait a moment before they are confirmed, so a bot that sees yours first can trade around it. The best-known form is the sandwich attack. Some MEV is harmless, like keeping prices in line between pools, but the kind that hits memecoin traders buys before you and sells after you.
