Front-run

Getting a trade in just ahead of someone else's to profit from it.

If a bot spots your big buy before it is confirmed, it can buy first, let your buy push the price up, and then sell to you or right after you. Front-running is the first half of a sandwich attack. Keeping your slippage tight limits how much anyone can make by front-running you.
