Perps
Also written or said as: perpetuals, perpetual futures, leverage, liquidation, liquidated, longs, shorts
Bets on a price with borrowed money, called leverage. A small move against you can wipe out your whole stake.
With 10x leverage, a move of a little under 10% against you wipes out your whole stake, because the platform closes your position before it goes below zero; that is getting liquidated. Some trading apps now offer perps right next to memecoins. Leverage multiplies losses as fast as gains, so it is no place to start.
