Beta play
Also written or said as: beta, betas, beta coin, beta plays
A smaller coin bought because it is linked to a bigger coin that is already running.
When a coin about a cartoon frog runs, traders buy coins about the frog's friends or the same meme, hoping they follow the leader. Betas often jump harder than the leader while it climbs, and fall first and hardest when it cools. Buying betas late in a run is a common way to become exit liquidity.
