Hardware wallet

Also written or said as: hardware wallets, ledger, trezor, hw wallet

A small physical device that keeps your keys offline and signs transactions on its own screen.

Ledger and Trezor are the best-known makers. You approve every transaction by pressing a button on the device, so malware on your computer cannot sign for you. Buy one only from the maker's own store, never second-hand, and never type its recovery words into anything.
