Stop-loss

Also written or said as: sl, stop, stop loss, stopped out

An automatic sell that fires if a coin falls to a level you set, to cap your loss.

You buy at a $100,000 market cap and set a stop-loss at $70,000, so if it drops 30% you are out. On memecoins a stop can fill well below your level in a fast crash, and a rug can be quicker than any stop. It still caps most losses far better than hoping.

This guide is for learning. It is not financial advice. Most memecoins go to zero and most people who trade them lose money. Only ever trade what you can afford to lose.
