Gas
Also written or said as: gas fee, gas fees, gas money
The fee for using a blockchain. On Solana it is called the network fee.
'Gas' comes from Ethereum, where a transaction can cost dollars. On Solana the base fee is 5,000 lamports per signature, a tiny fraction of a cent, but trading apps add priority fees and tips that cost much more. When people say gas on Solana they usually mean the whole cost of getting a trade through.
