Priority fee
Also written or said as: priority fees, prio fee, prio, compute unit price
An optional extra fee that helps your transaction get processed sooner when the network is busy.
You set a price per unit of computing work and pay it on top of the base fee, and busier moments call for a higher price. Trading apps usually set it for you, and it can cost far more than the base fee. On small trades it adds up: paying 0.001 SOL to buy and again to sell a 0.1 SOL position costs 2% before the price has moved at all.
