RPC

The server your wallet or app talks to in order to read the blockchain and send transactions.
Your wallet does not talk to Solana directly: it asks an RPC node for balances and sends your signed transactions through one. A slow or overloaded RPC means stale prices and slow or failed trades. Trading apps run fast RPC setups, which is part of what their fees pay for.
