Single-sided liquidity

Also written or said as:one-sided liquidity, one-sided pool, single-sided pool, single sided

A trading pool seeded with only the coin itself, so buyers' SOL or dollars fill the other side.

A normal pool holds two things, say a coin and SOL. A single-sided pool starts with only the coin, and every buy adds SOL or dollars that whoever owns the pool can take out. It has honest uses, like launching without money up front, but it also means the pool's owner can be the seller without ever pressing sell. In the LIBRA case in February 2025, Bubblemaps reported that the wallets behind the launch added LIBRA-only pools while pulling dollars and SOL out of others, about $87 million in all.

This guide is for learning. It is not financial advice. Most memecoins go to zero and most people who trade them lose money. Only ever trade what you can afford to lose.
