Validator
Also written or said as: validators, leader, block producer
A computer that processes transactions and produces blocks on Solana.
Validators take turns as leader, building blocks for a short window. Priority fees and tips go to them, which is why paying more gets you in sooner. You never deal with one directly, but every trade you make passes through one.
