Vamp (vamping)
Also written or said as: vamping, vamped, vamps, a vamp
A relaunch of a coin that already ran, by someone else: a near-copy that claims to fix something about the original.
A coin takes off but has a flaw: its creator fees go to a stranger, the dev sold, or a few wallets hold the supply. Someone launches a near-identical coin with that flaw fixed, and holders and new buyers move over, sometimes taking it higher than the first one went. Vamps pop up whenever a meme is hot, so check which version the community has really moved to.
