Celebrity coin
Also written or said as: celeb coin, celebrity token, celebrity memecoin
A memecoin launched by, or in the name of, a famous person.
A few are launched by the celebrity's own team, and far more by strangers borrowing the name. Real or not, they tend to spike on launch and fall fast. In February 2025 the LIBRA coin, promoted by Argentina's president, crashed within hours as insider wallets cashed out. Before believing a coin belongs to someone famous, check that person's own official account.
